5/15/05

I was sitting on the front step holding Devin when Trevor came up to me and told me that I was in a "time-out."

"What did I do?" I asked.

He told me that I had slapped him. This simply wasn't true! Regardless, he insisted that I stay in my time-out.

5/6/05

After taking Trevor to the doctor, I took him back home and was getting ready to go back to work. Trevor told me, "No, Mommy, You are not going back to work." He's been telling what I will and will not do lately. I convinced him it was ok for me to go back to work by telling him that I had to go to work so that I could bring home the bacon.

Daddy called me later and told me that Trevor was feeling better. He had cheekily been telling him that that Mommy had gone to work to get the bacon.

Trevor woke up with a bloody nose, then threw up a bit later. I was worried, so I took him to the doctor. I asked him how he felt on the way to the doctor. He told me, "I just feel like ice water." He had a sippy cup of water at the time. I think that had something to do with it.

Later, I was telling him that I loved him because he was my son. He said, "yeah, I'm a little sun, Devin is a little sun, Mommy is a big sun!"

5/6/05

Trevor was squeezing between a chair and a basket of toys to get his backpack. He rubbed his bottom against the basket, and then said, "Ow...I hurt my pockets."

4/25/05

Trevor was pushing his bike in front of me on the way to the park today. One little part of the sidewalk is messed up where there is a 2 inch rise. After Trevor walked over it, he stopped, looked back, and asked me if I needed help.

I have a sweet, lovely boy.

Walking to the park today (Trevor was pushing his bike) Trevor saw a lawn ornament that was shaped like a little sun. Trevor pointed to it, and called it a "Devin Sun."

Mommy said, "Mommy loves Trevor."

Trevor replied, "Trevor loves popcorn."

Little

Trevor has 2 stuffed toy monkeys, a little one and a big one. Sometimes, it's Daddy Monkey and Trevor Monkey. Sometimes, he calls the little one baby monkey. But, when we ask "what's the little monkey's name?" He always says, "Little."

4/20/05

Trevor loves Rice Krispy Treats. I think part of the draw for him is what he calls them...Christmas Treats.

This morning, he told his dad that he wanted a Christmas treat. His dad told him, "first of all, you need to say please." So, Trevor asked for a Christmas Treat "please." Then dad said, "Secondly, it's Rice Kris-py Treats, not Christmas Treats." He clearly enunciated each syllable. So, Trevor gave it a try, "Rice Christ-mas Treats," clearly enunciating each syllable.

Dad never did get it right.

Trevor got up and went downstairs this morning. In the diaper bag, he found a condom (packed there since our last vacation.) He brought it up to me while I was getting ready for work. I said to him, "what do you have there?" He told me, "it's a fruit snack!"

Later, his dad called me at work because Trevor had woken up from a nap and was convinced I was home somewhere. I told him I was at work, and then I asked where he was. "I'm in Chicago" he tells me. He prounounces it 'cago, but I knew what he meant.
