Trevor was pushing his bike in front of me on the way to the park today. One little part of the sidewalk is messed up where there is a 2 inch rise. After Trevor walked over it, he stopped, looked back, and asked me if I needed help.

I have a sweet, lovely boy.

Walking to the park today (Trevor was pushing his bike) Trevor saw a lawn ornament that was shaped like a little sun. Trevor pointed to it, and called it a "Devin Sun."

Mommy said, "Mommy loves Trevor."

Trevor replied, "Trevor loves popcorn."

Little

Trevor has 2 stuffed toy monkeys, a little one and a big one. Sometimes, it's Daddy Monkey and Trevor Monkey. Sometimes, he calls the little one baby monkey. But, when we ask "what's the little monkey's name?" He always says, "Little."

Trevor loves Rice Krispy Treats. I think part of the draw for him is what he calls them...Christmas Treats.

This morning, he told his dad that he wanted a Christmas treat. His dad told him, "first of all, you need to say please." So, Trevor asked for a Christmas Treat "please." Then dad said, "Secondly, it's Rice Kris-py Treats, not Christmas Treats." He clearly enunciated each syllable. So, Trevor gave it a try, "Rice Christ-mas Treats," clearly enunciating each syllable.

Dad never did get it right.

Trevor got up and went downstairs this morning. In the diaper bag, he found a condom (packed there since our last vacation.) He brought it up to me while I was getting ready for work. I said to him, "what do you have there?" He told me, "it's a fruit snack!"

Later, his dad called me at work because Trevor had woken up from a nap and was convinced I was home somewhere. I told him I was at work, and then I asked where he was. "I'm in Chicago" he tells me. He prounounces it 'cago, but I knew what he meant.

We got a new bike for Trevor. It might be a few centimeters too big for him, but he still really loves it.

He pushed the bike all the way to the park, all the while wearing his bike helmut. Safety First! We asked, "Trevor, do you want to ride the bike." He replied, "No, Mommy, I just want to push it." Sometimes, he added that he wanted to "push it to Chicago."

We're getting a babysitter and going out tonight! The babysitter is Tina, one of Trevor's daycare teachers. Early in the day, I tried to get him excited about the evening by saying, "Guess who's coming to see you tonight?" His happy response? "Santa Claus!"

We had friends over tonight, and they have a little girl about 6 months older than Trevor. They had great fun chasing each other all over the house, but he kept trying to get her into bed. They were playing on the bed in the guestroom, and we finally chased them out of there after they (they being Trevor, I think) knocked a picture off the wall. So, he took his little friend up to his bedroom. After playing up there for a few minutes, we heard him say, "do you want some lotion?" Always a very sensitive young man, that Trevor. And, it was more like, "do you want some wotion?"

Later in the evening, he pulled the nail clippers out of the end table drawer and offered to clip her nails. Daddy got there just in time and prevented a horrible end to such a pleasant evening.

Sometime in February or March 2005

Trevor was reciting his ABCs in the car and doing very well for someone who had only been two for a couple of months. The end, however, was tricky.

Trevor: "...P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Yellow Bee..."

Impressed with this oddity, I wondered if he could top it. He did.

Trevor: "...P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Mickey's Letter Time!"

1/15/05

Trevor: "I have 3 friends with a helicopter."

4/11/05

Trevor: "I want a Christmas Treat." (his word for Crispy Treat).

Mommy, not happy with his behavior in general, "I'm only giving you what you need from now on, not what you want."

Trevor: "I need a Christmas Treat."

Mommy: "I lose!" (in my head only).

4/4/05

Background: At daycare, Trevor has learned "5 little monkeys". The words to this song are:
5 Little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head
Mommy called the doctor, the doctor said,
"No More monkeys jump on bed."

Trevor has recently learned to climb onto the counter tops. Climbing on the countertops often leads to time-outs.

The cutism: little monkeys climb on countertop, Mommy give monkey a time-out.

Mom: "What's your daycare teacher's name?"
Trevor: "You're supposed to not bite your friends."
